§ FAQ

Questions from behind the counter

These are the questions FFL owners ask us most. Each answer is short and specific. Bring the rest to your demo.

Five plans. One system. Every plan starts with a demo.

§01 Plans and payments

Pick the plan that fits your counter

Each plan is built around a kind of shop. Start with the one that matches yours. Move up when the business grows.

Which plan do I need?

Omniscient comes in five plans. Each one is built around a kind of shop, from a home-based FFL to a full range and club.

Compare the plans
Does every plan include a website?

No. Your own website and storefront come on the e-Commerce plan and up. The first plan covers point of sale and gunsmithing. It has no website.

Can I try it before I buy?

Every plan starts with a demo. Book one and watch Omniscient run on your kind of shop. Then our team sets up your account with you.

Who processes my cards?

Fortis, an FFL-specialized processor, handles your cards. We never store card numbers or security codes.

Can customers give to charity at checkout?

Yes. A customer can round a sale up at checkout and give the difference to charity. The charity round-up comes on every plan.

§02 Switching

Bring your records with you

Your bound book carries the history of your license. Here is what comes over, and on which plan.

Can I bring my bound book?

Yes, on every plan. Import your A&D book from a spreadsheet and map the columns. You review every entry before anything is written.

How switching works
What else can I bring?

Customers on the e-Commerce plan and up, inventory on the Gun Store plan and up, signed waivers on the Gun Range plan and up, and scanned paper 4473s on the Gun Range plan and up.

Can I take my data with me if I leave?

Yes. Data exports come on every plan. They cover your A&D book, 4473 PDFs and signatures, NFA records, customers, orders and products. If you cancel, you get time to export everything first.

§03 Compliance

When the ATF walks in

An inspection is a test of your records. Here is how Omniscient keeps them ready for one.

What happens at an inspection?

You hand the investigator a link. The ATF inspection link opens a time-limited, read-only view of your firearms records, on every plan. The local desktop software keeps a read-only copy on site, on every plan, so a dropped connection does not stop an inspection.

Can I keep selling when the internet goes down?

Yes. The in-store appliance keeps the counter selling through an outage, on every plan. It keeps NICS checks running through the outage too, on the e-Commerce plan and up.

Is NICS built in?

NICS background checks run inside the sale on the e-Commerce plan and up. The 4473, the check and the sale are one flow.

How are fingerprints for NFA handled?

Electronic fingerprints come on the Gun Store plan and up. They are taken only after written consent. They are encrypted, and destroyed on a published schedule.

Does Omniscient guarantee compliance?

No software can. Omniscient is built around ATF recordkeeping rules and keeps your records in order. The license is yours, and so are the calls.
